Grant Glow Up Course

SELF PACED COURSE

Get funding from people you WANT to partner with!

Draft & submit your next grant application in less than a day, without editing yourself out of your ask.

"We regret to inform you"
"We appreciate your time, but"
"Apply again next year..."

We’ve all felt the dread of reading those words 🤮

You shouldn’t have to say no to your own ideas because funders keep saying no.

Yes, funders do receive more applications than they can fund. AND your ideas are totally fund’able.

It’s more a matter of fit than it is a matter of worth.

Even though it still gives me a case of the eye rolls just thinking about it, not all money is the right money to pursue.

You have to discern which funding opportunities will uplift your work, and which funders are asking you to bend over backwards for scraps. It’ll make your fundraising efforts easier and more fruitful.

Your story deserves to be shared.

Your dreams deserve to be actualized.

Your grant writing experience deserves a glow up.

Believing in your Fairy Grant Mentor doesn’t require a leap of faith

Here are some “see it to believe it” share outs from other change makers like you

"Lori is a *wellspring* of knowledge! Aside from being so personable and down to earth, she was incredibly generous with the information she shared with me. Lori made approaching the process of independent grant research, writing & applications simple and not as scary as I’d imagined it to be!

She gave me pro/insider tips on things I hadn’t thought of as a Solopreneur, like what to do about taxes and how to find the investment funds most suited to me and the work I’m doing - a testament to her years of hands-on experience and genuine care for the well-being of humanity. I greatly appreciated our time spent together"

I’m not a scroogey gatekeeper.

Hey! I’m Lori, your Fairy Grant Mentor.

11 years of grant writing in the nonprofit space leached out almost out of my humanity.

But I still hold a stubborn belief that these skills must be shared and equalized for others – so you can get your funding wishes granted and learn how to not take the rejections so hard.

I’ve supported and taught grant writing to entrepreneurs, artists and creative change makers for 5 years.

This course has an “I’m in it with you”ness element because well need to be heard, helped and hyped as we navigate the often unnavigable aspects of life, funding included!

FAQ'S

May your funding wishes be granted

But first - here’s the info you may need to confidently make your wish

Can I apply for grants without being a nonprofit?

Yes. While most grants are restricted to 501c3 nonprofits, each year there are more grants for folks partnering with a fiscal sponsor and individuals who are change makers, entrepreneurs, and artists. The Grant Glow Up Course will cover this material as well as help you identify where your best-fit grants are.

Are grants a guaranteed income source?

If you’re actually wondering whether you’ll “win” every application you submit, the surface answer is “no”. Apply for grants is a long game, meaning that grants are most effective if they are a PART of your income streams, not your ONLY income source when starting out.
The deeper answer is that as you submit more right-fit quality applications like you’ll learn in this course, you will increase the ratio of “yes’s” you receive and take the funding rejections less personally as “no’s” are an annoying and inevitable part of the system.

Do I have to be a “good” writer to apply for grants?

Grant writing is more about being a good listener (to what funders are asking for) and being a responsive and relevant writer.
Prior “professional” writing experience is not necessary, as learning the skill of grant writing is ultimately a tool to get you closer to your full funded project and change making dreams becoming reality.

How quickly will I receive the grant money?

Grants are not a get rich quick situationship. Each grant funder has their own process and timeframe for reviewing and awarding funds. In The Grant Glow Up Course you’ll learn how to make a grant calendar that supports the seasons and cycles of your project(s) so you will be prepared to take on or leave behind potential grant applications based on when the funder states their anticipated funding dates are compared to when you need the funding.

I live/work outside of the US - is this course relevant for me?

Yes, the skill of grant writing is incredibly valuable for anyone as the tools shared in The Grant Glow Up Course can be applied towards grants, client proposals, memorandums of understanding, letters of interest, etc.
AND - I would highly recommend that you do at least 5 minutes of online research within your own country context to confirm that grants are a legally allowed form of income. Doing so helps you set your own expectations for what might be possible in your grant writing journey.
There are grant opportunities open and available for all humans on earth, and also my expertise is from navigating the grant system within the United States of America.

How long do I have access to the course and mentorship support?

For as long as the course exists, you will have access to it! If in the future I decide to no longer host the course, you will receive at least 90 days notice to be sure to review and download any materials you would like to continue using.
Should any questions arise regarding the course materials, you can utilize the “comment” feature within the course to ask any questions and I will get back to you within 5-7 business days. That mentorship support will similarly continue until the course is archived in the distant future.
You are encouraged to schedule your 1:1 grant consultation call within the first 60 days of your enrollment as this timeframe encourages course completion and therefore more grant applications being submitted to support your pursuits =]
